« on: June 11, 2013, 05:56:00 PM »
ive called quit a few guns shops around the Tacoma area and the only one that buys muzzleloaders is the shop on riverroad in Puyallup. You guys have any other ideas? Just looking to see what i could get for it or if its just worth keeping.

Thanks.

Most pawn shops will buy them.

What do you have?
Maybe one of us would pick it up??? :dunno:

Try the classifieds here. I'd think a group of like minded individuals would be the right place to try.

I thought about that but i didnt really want to put it "up for sale" i kinda want to just find out what i could potentially get for it, then make my decision.

In my opinion. you will get a whole lot less from a Pawn shop or gun shop than you would selling it out right.  Let the Muzzy guys know exactly what you got and I'm sire they could place a close value on it.

Pawn shop's got to make money too. They'll give you wholesale value so they can turn a profit. In other words, don't expect fair market value.

http://www.discountfirearmsusa.com/product/traditions-vortektrade-northwest-edition-153767-1.htm

Looks like 469.00 to 549.00 for a new one.

Thats about what i paid for it. I got an offer from a guy at work for $225. do you think that is a fare offer? it seems a little low sense its only one season old but i might be kind of biased. There is a tiny bit of camo rubbed off on the bottom but that is about it.

If it were mine and I paid $500 I'd ask $325 for it assuming it was in like new shape and clean. The problem you might have with it is the reputation some of them have with the problems you mentioned. Looks like a nice gun though. How's it shoot?

Nice thing about muzzleloaders is you don't need an FFL and you can just put it in the mail.  List it here for $325 and if it doesn't sell, throw it on Gunbroker with a $300 starting bid and see what happens.
