November is a great month to hunt moose

Not sure there would be a bad month to hunt moose.  huntnnw gave you some very good advise there. The first week of November would be my choice......take an elk while your up there.

Ive hunted in super hot and dry to wet and cool in WA and saw tons of rutting action in both conditions in early Oct

This makes me feel really good about our chance here.

A guy I know that lives up there said that if you ever draw this tag don't shoot any thing less then 45in.

I drew that tag about 8 years ago.  I pulled out a wide 57+ inch moose.  You will have a blast get over there and scout.  Miles creek is a good spot to look up and there a huge bowl to glass in.  LOTS of moose...   There is also many closed gates as well which is good to check out as well.

You mean Mill Creek? I live up here there is no Miles creek. Yup Mill creek holds some awesome moose. Also check out north and south baldy and up the east branch of LeClerc rd all the way to the top holds good moose. I would spend much time north of Bunchgrass Meadows off of the middle branch of CecLerc creek not nearly as many moose. Also great hunting above bead lake. It has been a while since I have hunted it...  BUT you hit the spots that the State Biologist told me to go and find them.  You might also want to bring your mountain bike as that is a good quick way to get behind the lock gates.

Check Out Petit lake area... Ive seen some toads up there.... There are some good cuts to glass... for this unit 45'' would be my goal but 50 is very possible if youre patient...

I had the tag in 2009, killed a 45" wide bull with triple brows on both sides.  I spent lots of time scouting the area, like most every weekend throughout the summer.  Listen to the advice you got here, and don't bother calling the biologist, the spots he will give you are the same three spots he gives everyone else who calls him.  My biggest piece of advise would be to be patient, don't let the tag burn a hole in your pocket and have fun.  Be aware there are more grizzlies in the area than the F&G either admits or knows about.  Nothing to be scared of, but be aware of it.   Good luck and come back here and tell us all your story after your done.
