Wild Turkeys Hatched

Just saw my first hatch of turkeys. Must have been about 12 or so all flapin there wings running around mama hen .Anybody else see the first hatch of the year? Real cool to see the little guys!
Slap some bacon on a biscut and lets go, were burrnin daylight!

I seen a bunch in the tucannon area.

They were just out of camera range and I did the ethical thing and didn't spook em.  :chuckle:

Hopefully this rain didn't hurt their chances to bad. That long dry spell sure helped the hens that were early on the nest.

Been wondering about that too! The same with fawn mortality.

Been watching the hens with poults around the place. Every hen has between 6 and 10 babies. Not sure if that's good? It sure seems good to me!

Funny you'd say that Iceman-newspaper in Utah some years back ran an article and picture a lady had taken right at dark of what she said was a "dinosaur" that ran across the road in front of her.  One look and you could see it was obvisouly a turkey-newspaper bought the dinosaur aspect hook, line and sinker!
