High mountain hunting supply rifle build
« on: June 21, 2013, 02:44:31 PM »
Here is a rifle I just finished up Remmy 700 action trued up shilen barrel chambered to .280AI oversized recoil lug tuned factory trigger bell and Carlson stock, the metal was finished in black cerakote and bedded to the stock using Devcon. Shoots great this group was with factory hornady 280 rem it measures .176" center to center. This was the second third and fourth shot out of the rifle.

Potential dumb question alert....

Does a .280AI shoot .280Rem ammo?

Now that I go back and look again and again at that rifle that seems like a very reasalbe price for such a shooter. I'm no long range marksmen nor am I all knowing on rifles but that seems like a good price.

yes you fire 280 rem and it fire forms the standard 280 rem into 280 AI. And yes that is a very reasonable price!

As of now i do not. There is a .223 bolt gun in the works 16" barrel threaded with detachable mag, should be around That price point.

Have you used those dies yet Mitch? Curious what speeds you're getting with that 26" tube!

As a regular I didn't know you built rifles either? I thought you just put AR's together and mounted scopes? looks good!
