Observatory archery bull tag
« on: June 30, 2013, 07:33:46 AM »
I am excited I drew this tag and have spent time in both units. Which one do you think I should focus my hunt on? (Sept. 3-15) the umptanum side has no general archery season during that time. People say there are less elk in that unit, but I did see a few nice bulls during mizzleloader a few years back. Input would be appreciated!

I had the tag 3 years ago and spent most my time in the Umtanum unit.

Sure there may be less elk in it, but I was in to elk every day but could not close the deal. Got with in 20 yards a couple real nice bulls but no shot  :bash:

There are still plenty of local elk in there during the summer, there just harder to coax out of there dark cool timbered homes  :archery_smiley:

That would definitely be more of a quality hunt. Wouldnt have to compete with anyone....
