Salmon fishing at the Hanford reach this weekend?
« on: July 09, 2013, 07:18:44 PM »
I have a uncle coming into town from back east that wants to get into some fish.
Last year we took him out and got him into some oversize, he wants salmon this year, I was thinking about doing a guided trip on the reach, Havent contacted any guides yet, are the salmon worth fishing for in july on the reach?

any other ideas that are within  a couple hour drive from the tri cities?

thanks

You'd probably be better iff trying to get a guided trip below Wanapum Dam or somewhere upriver of there. The fall kings that are fished in the Hanford Reach won't really be there until September in numbers. Not sure if the upriver fish are catchable in that area either. Not sure what guides to contact for fishing the upper Columbia. Call "Hooked on Toys" in Wenatchee, they could probably give you some ideas.
Fish hard, hunt harder!

Maybe he will just have to live without salmon lol, plenty of other fish I know how to catch and can take him out for, These trips arent really about the fish anyways, there a way to catch up, I didnt get to meet my uncle until just a couple years ago, just being out on the river and spending quality time between my uncle, father and I is whats more important to us.

Thanks for the info!
