Duwamish/Green River Pinks
« on: July 24, 2013, 10:08:06 AM »
So typically I've hit the Puyallup after work for pinks. I changed job's this year and my office door is literally 20ft from the Duwamish. It's a much slower moving river, so what should I be using?

On the Puyallup, I always used yarn with a bead on a 2ft leader with weight. But the current carried the line so much more than the Duwamish will. Buzz bombs or spinners on the Duwamish the better way to go?

Mostly jigs down in the Duwamish some use buzz bombs.  I have even seen small spinner and dick nites work ok to.  But mostly jigs.  What part of the Duwamish are working by...above or below 1st ave bridge?

The Duwi is the only river I fish for pinks. The lower river will be stacked with'em coming up here pretty soon. I only fish a hoochie on a jighead (1/8-1/4oz.) Use the little mini hoochies in any shade of pink with black or white jigheads. Cast them out as far as you can, let it sink for a bit, then twitch and pause on your retrieve. The incoming tide all the way through the high tide is best but when the river is full its hard not to catch them. I fish from my boat from the 1st Ave bridge all the way through the Boeing area. Theres bank access all through there but you have to look around for it. If I were you I would stay away from the Spokane st. mess. Combat fishing at its worst! I have caught them on maribou jigs before but the hoochie jigs are tops by far. Good luck and have fun out there!

Thanks for the tips and suggestions on what to use guys! Much appreciated!

I'm above the bridge, directly across from the Tukwila Community Center.
