Congratulations!  That's one of those "bird in the hand" moments.  Maybe you would've had a crack at the bull, but you definitely have the cow in your freezer!

I have killed 11 elk now. 6 of them were cows. I have just as much joy out of harvesting a cow as a nice bull. Congratulations on a beautiful and tasty trophy cow.

you really should have held out for the bull that was 10 yds away...we'll get him next year...
