Whether or not it can be done depends on the rifle, but the biggies are:

1) cannot use 209 primers. So ya gotta have a nipple that will work with #11s or caps

2) Primer must be visible (open to the elements) by the rifle's design. This one is a little grey. Doesn't spell out 'how open' and I think you can add 'stuff' to protect your primer from the elements as long as its not a part of the rifle. Like a strip of packing tape!

Then, of course, the bore diameter has to be min legal for the game you are hunting. So 40cal (I think) for deer and 45cal for anything bigger

What kind of inline is it? But, normally if it is not designed for the different ignition systems it could get spendy

CVA Vortex - I thought a Vortek was a Traditions? Anyway Traditions does off a Vortek that is northwest legal. So they can do it, but it involves cutting away part of the breech area to expose the nipple.  Then they put a new breech plug with a percussion nipple in place of the 209 breech plug.

It is my belief that this conversion is not the most reliable conversion out there.  You might call either CVA or Traditions and ask about converting your rifle.
