Humpies in the Snohomish system
« on: August 16, 2007, 05:30:06 PM »
The humpies are thick in the Snohomish system already. Floated the Sky on tues and caught 15 to 20 while steelhead fishing. doesn't open for catch and keep on the Sky till 9-1 but it opened on the Snohomish today. Have a few up at my house already. Here is my wife with one from last night. Swimming pink jigs is the ticket.

Right on!

I'm thinking about heading there tomorrow morning when I get off work at 9am. Where would be the best spot to fish from the bank since I don't have a boat up here? Thanks.

If your on the Sky check out the Rip Rap below the Cadman plant around the Reformatory hole, or any of the deeper slow water on the Ben Howard road.If your on the Snoho check out Thomas's Eddy or below the 522 bridge.

Thanks. I was thinking about just going to the 522 bridge and checking things out. Is it pretty easy to figure out how to get down to the river from 522? Not sure where the Eddy is, but I'm sure I can figure it out.

i've never been able to figure out how to get below the 522 bridge from the bank. i can tell you all one thing for sure...floating a driftboat from lewis street downstream is NOT a good idea. the nearest takeout is downtown snohomish, which requires a lot of rowing.
it sounded like a good idea, alright? we had nothing better to do.
i'd suggest parking at lewis street bridge in monroe and walking downstream a ways. maybe a long ways. you'll find fish ;)
any of that water around the prison is good.

I think it's called the Fales lk. road , go over the Snoqualmie at highbridge and turn right should take you right to it. steep bank though.

Went down there to the 522 bridge this morning, and fished right under the bridge on the West side of the river. Caught two fish in the 3 hours I was there, and saw probably 8-10 more caught.
