Entiat Deer opener
« on: August 30, 2013, 09:36:00 AM »
Anybody going to be hunting above Entiat this weekend? I will probably get out and about and away from the holiday weekend mayhem. If you are going and have been before, how busy is it in there this weekend? I am worried that the combination of hunters and campers might make it a little crazy.  :yike:

I am using this weekend as a "maybe I will get lucky" but more to get my legs, back and senses all tuned up for our trip to Oregon for elk in two weeks.  :IBCOOL:

You are going on Ed and Tom's trip.  Should be a blast.  I'm hoping to make it down there with those guys on the next trip down.  Keep me posted how that goes.

I'll be grouse hunting and soaking up some sun up around Winthrop. all week.
The first bird may get the worm, but it's the second rat that gets the cheese.

I was up there a few years ago on Labor day weekend with my daughter, and there was hardly any one up around Mud or Potato creek, but like I said, it was a few years ago. Most people were further up in the unit.

I've been up in that general area a few times the past few years for grouse and scouting deer around this time and have hardly seen anyone. Good luck.

I got it them each morning and evening but no bucks. I had a few chances to shoot a doe but didn't want to burn my tag that early and when it was that warm.

Spent a few days with Pete and Re-Pete this past week. They have nothing but good things to say about you.  Sounds like you are getting stoked for your hunt.

Oh nice. You were up at elk camp huh? I can't say anything but good things about them too. Great guys and a lot of fun to hunt with.

We are getting stoked. I started the packing process last night and will continue tonight and tomorrow night. Leaving Friday about mid day.
