So now that I'm back here's the whole story as I heard it...
My Dad (69 y/o) and his brother (60 y/o) were parking the truck to take a walk on an old skidder road. While parking the bear strolled out of the brush
30 feet away!My Uncle said BEAR and sat there not reaching for his rifle, my Dad hopped out and was putting a round in when he noticed the collar. So they leaned against the truck and watched it feed on shrooms and tear apart a stump for 10 minutes.
I ended up hiking to that spot later in the day and when they told me the story I was DUMBFOUNDED! The paw prints were good sized too a bit wider than my palm. Needless to say he will never live it down.

We were up in the Stevens Pass/Lake Wenatchee area and believe it or not had a young Bull Moose walk through camp on Tuesday!
