Fawn distress and pup distress,or bird distress. All three have worked well for me in June. Come July the young pups will be on their own and its time for them to learn lifes lessons so to speak :)   just about any distress will be great

We tried the fawn in distress call this morning and we had 6 or 7 doe's very unhappy with us when they finally figured out that there was an impostor making the sound! No dogs today but we got two yesterday!

Heck, early this year I had 8 does come running to a Coyote Howl, thoroughly P'd off, and looking to kick some coyote butt...
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

Why hunt yotes when thete fur is worth nothing?

There are several reasons, but namely conservation. Take a drive around eastern WA and look at all the does with young fawns. The coyotes are eating like kings right now at the expense of our deer herds. Another reason is just predator management, we are overrun with coyotes removing them is a good thing any time of year. Practice shooting is another reason, live practice is great for later hunting season. I am sure there are lots of other reasons as well but those are a few off the top of my head. Besides the fun involved!

Good point Brownie28, as well as deer fawn, calf elk, turkey, and other game birds.

Went out some time in June with an old call, and tried making it sound like a fawn and I guess it worked, I called in a doe and then a 3x3 with eyeguards  :IBCOOL: no coyotes though!  :bash:
