what did I find?
« on: August 18, 2013, 08:20:36 PM »
So I was tearing out all the old interior  in my ranger and I found this. Its mounted in the middle on the back wall behind my seat. No part numbers and I cant find anything in my  Haynes manual. I disconnected the nagitive wire on it and my truck still runs fine. Any ideas on what it is and what its for?

GPS tracking beacon.

For a cigarette lighter type power plug in, like the plug-in on the end of a spotlight or a cellphone charger cord for example.  Basically just another spot to get juice from if your cigarette lighter hole is being used.

It's a DHS tracking port.

If you love something you will set it free, if it don't come home, hunt it down and kill it.

Funny responses!  One of my students actually found a tracking device in his truck a few years ago.  It looked similar to a car alarm but smaller and had what looked like a small antennae.  he looked up the company name it had on it and found it to be a gps tracking device.  his mom said it was from his cousin who owned the truck before him  :chuckle: , ya ok mom
