I cant think of a wilderness in WA where you couldnt get to the same spot via a different trail in a shorter distance than 25 miles, sure there isnt a different trail that will get you closer to the same spot in less distance?

I can think of 2 that you could easily get 25 miles in.  My high hunt spot is 29 miles from the truck I can get in from another direction in 23 miles but its over 3 passes and a lot harder hike.

I'm gonna bet it's a 25 mile loop or 25 mile round trip.

I'm going to bet you're wrong. :)

You guys are cracking me up though with your assertion that we are stretching the truth.

Don't get sensitive that I am accusing you of stretching the truth. I took a guess and was wrong. Nothing to get worked up about. I think it's an amazing accomplishment that you can make that kind of hike. I do question  a hike that far with meat on your back and your ability to get it out before it spoils, but I make no accusation of you stretching the truth.  I am in no condition to do that myself. If you can do it, all the more power to you. I can't even imagine a 25 mile hike with 100+pounds on your back.

Oh I'm not mad, I don't get worked up on the internet.

We have a pretty good plan on getting it out, and it looks like the weather will cooperate a bit. I'll hopefully have some good pictures to post in a few days. I'm fighting a head cold right now, so that's going to suck.

Good luck on your wilderness - deer scouting - bear hunt. I bet you are worn out after doing 25 miles a day with a full hunting pack. I can barley do 20 miles a day with an ultra lite recreation pack. I have been reworking my hunting pack load trying to get it lighter. Transversing from ridge to ridge can be a killer. Anyway looking forward to seeing your bear.

How many miles before the bear gets out and carries you in the pack :chuckle:

Sorry, couldn't resist!
