First Archery Elk Hunt...Solo
« on: August 30, 2013, 10:07:48 AM »
It's almost time for my first ever elk hunting! I've shot an elk once, years ago, while bear hunting.  This will be my first time ever, actually hunting elk!  I'll be deer hunting Sunday and Monday.  Sept. 3rd I'll be watching my grandkids during the day.  The evening of the 3rd, I'll hook up the travel trailer and head out Elk hunting.  I'll have the 4th-8th to hunt.  Unfortunately, that's about all the time I'll get.  I'll be in school during late season.

I'm still debating on which of 3 areas to hunt.

North of Newport, west of the river...
North of Newport, east of the river...
North of Nordman, Priest Lk. on the Washington side...

I'd considered IEP land but haven't gotten around to purchasing a permit AND with no camping allowed it'd be a bit less accessible.

Decisions, decision...UGH!!
