Never understood till now... kill pics
« on: September 01, 2013, 10:23:13 AM »
So for a long time I never understood why everyone is always itching to see pictures of everyone else's animals, trophy or not on here, esp as season is going on. Dont get me wrong, I like to brag a little bit just like most, even if its no trophy, and yea its cool to see pics, and I am happy for everyone, but never quite realized what the big deal was cause a lot of folks on here seem to be going nuts to see the newest kill pics. I now know. Up till now I was too wrapped up in my own hunting to worry about seeing others success. On top of that I was single, and lived with the folks, my summer job was all I needed, my college classes only took 2 days a week, and I had all the time in the world. Now I am sitting at work, checking threads on every break trying to see new kills because if I cant join in the hunting, I can live through everyone else, haha, kinda. Now I am an on call for work, i have to be available 24/7 so no leaving cell reception to hunt and I havent been working here long enough to have vacation to take. I have 2 special draws this year too, second doe tag Yale unit and cow tag for late muzzy Coweeman unit. Man I cant sit still, haha. With 2 teenage stepsons at home, a 6 month old, and an unemployed wife... I have no problems putting the real priorities first, but man I am gonna drive the lil lady nuts, haha. Ok its out there now, I had to vent after seeing that first kill pic on here  :chuckle: Back to work. Lets see the pics boys, post em post em post em

Understand very well what you are saying. Hope you get out this year. I miss my teenage years camping for a week in the deep woods without a care.

I totally get it; although in a slightly different way. It doesn't look like I will get out to hunt at all this year because i am almost dirt poor. I have two college degrees and yet can not find work for the life of me. My wife is still in college and just landed a part time gig as a teachers assistant but when part time work seems like a god send; paying for a tag and gas wouldn't be right. My wife is super supportive and gave me the all clear to go hunt but I would just feel too guilty. If I land a job soon I will buy my tag for late season or even modern. Keeping my fingers crossed.
