I've used a single pin for over 10yrs and elk hunt religiously. I HAVE NEVER missed an opportunity at an animal due to having to adjust the sight. If you have time to range one, you have time to adjust the sight, it takes another 2-3 seconds. I've had them make sudden distance changes and it wasn't a problem. I keep mine on 30 and will kill one dead from 0-40 with no adjustment. It's simple hold over/under and no different than splitting pins. With that said, there are 7 hunters in our group and 5 are single pin shooters, and the same goes for them. Not saying it won't happen (distance change) but, the same is true for multi-pin shooters as well.
