Altimeter Watch's

Doe's anyone use these? I've been kinda peeking around at them to add to my wish list. Looks like they could come in handy.
If so, what do you have?

I carry a GPS; it gives both altitude and the time.  I haven’t worn a watch in years.

I have the watch and have never really been all that impressed with it.

I have a HighGear watch. It's a good watch but the altimeter is un-awesome. They work off barometric pressure, so you have to set the barometric pressure for sea level, or know the barometric pressure and your altitude...set it that way. I don't think it's terribly accurate, but maybe I didn't set it correctly.

I have Suuntos, Highgears, and GPS models. I use them all. It is convenient to have a wrist display. Used properly they can all be of value.

I have a Suunto watch and a Garmin GPS, I like the watch while traveling and as a backup compass/altimeter for hunting.

Suunto watch is really nice.  Too steep for my budget but if I was going to buy a watch it would be one of those.

I do not wear a watch any more.  I can tell time with my cell and if I am in the woods I can guess pretty much what time it is.

Yeah the suunto is actually the one I was looking at. Looks like an awesome tool. About $299 though. Spendy

So kind of an old thread but after all was said and done I found a great deal on a Freestyle Nomad altimeter watch, Works great. Full ABC watch, Altitude, Barometer, Chrono, Compass, Temp and everything else a watch should do. Payed about $60 when it retails for $120

Gotta love steepandcheap.com
