"Wedge"105- Kelly Hill
« on: September 06, 2013, 09:21:28 AM »
Just curious how folks are doing in the area, and their thoughts. I am a M/R hunter and spent labor day weekend at a friends place off Sand Creek Rd, and did a bit of scouting there  (private, isolated) , down south on Rockut/Orient Cutoff, to Pierre Lake, Mcnitt' and the Gallow Springs areas. I was very dissappointed from what I didn't see as compared to years passed. This area is merely a shadow of it's former self  :yike::twocents: :twocents:

I hunted those areas last weekend and saw an average number of deer (average as in since 2008) - nothing compared to what I would see in pre-2002.

I know there are a few wolves up there.  I have seen two just South of Pierre Lake.

I've only seen 1.5 - 2.5 year old bucks on camera this year.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.
