The family and I are headed out to try winning the $5000.00 first prize. Anyone else fishing? If so post up your results here.

Yes, he was a complete moron! Anyway, fishing was slow for the Ripper family boat. Hit one first thing about 6#, lost one, then got a pink. After that it was dead except for a half dozen shakers and about a 4' dogfish snagged in the back. Oh well, congrats to the winner!

He yelled at us when we took lane 2 before he told us to go. I don't get up at 4 am to wait on him to direct me to one of the 6 open lanes. He ran over to my buddies truck and banged on the window and told him that he doesn't get to choose where he's going when it's busy. Apparently there was some lady and her attorney filming the launch for an apparent lawsuit or something.

We ended the day with 2 pinks, 3 silvers all under 7# I'm guessing, and 2 released kings, one about 10#

Anyone else notice the 120' super yacht parked at the guest dock by Anthony's? It was an AB 116. Googled it when I got home, $17mil  :o three 2400 hp engines. ::schwing:: just add some down riggers and you're fishin'!

That is a sweet yacht. Did you see it before daylight with all the blue lights on it? It looked way cool! 17 mil huh? Chump change. Lol The winning fish was 11# something cleaned weight. I thought it would take a much bigger fish to win. Usually it's 15+.

We followed that Yacht in from Bush Pt last weekend. For a while we were doing 40mph and couldn't keep up.  :yike:

We finally caught up with them in Everett and there were about a dozen hot blondes on deck as they were docking.

Good derby.  Two of us had good fishing until about 9am, with nine bigger fish (four coho, one humpy, four 20 - 22" blackmouth) and a ton of shakers.  But then it just went dead for us.  My biggest was good for 71st place, about eight ounces out of the prizes.

Let's see... a $17M buy in, then you got triple 2400 hp power plants.  If he was moving at 40 mph + you gotta believe all three hammers were down, meaning about a 700 gal/hr fuel burn rate... plus moorage, plus crew costs, etc.

Still probably chump change compared to what a dozen hot blondes will run you in maintenance, though.

 :yeah:

It's funny we were checking it out as we drove by but my phone was dead and couldn't take a picture of it. Then last night my buddy sent me a pic titled $17mil yacht in everett. So i filled him in on the specs i'd read.

I wonder who owns it, and why would you be moored in Everett of all places. My first thought was paul allen, but his yacht is about 4 times that size and probably 6 times the cost, Maybe that's his "fun" boat. Someone has to have a connection at the marina who can get the scoop on this boats owner.

From the website Yachts Magazine -

"Diamond, the newest AB 116, was purchased by a family man who enjoys cruising with his grandkids as much as he still enjoys working. His deckhand describes him as not being ready to slow down just yet, literally or figuratively. The boss wanted a yacht to get him somewhere fast, he explains, and he plans to take it easy when he retires."

Looks like the guy wants to remain a little anonymous, for obvious reasons.  Like he doesn't want anybody tailing him on his secret "coho track" for the Everett derby coming up in a couple weeks  :chuckle:
