No. No bears anywhere near there. If people give you advice there will be like 14 trucks at every gate and they will shut the whole mtn down.

Kidding...........This months or last months......not sure which Northwest Sportsman.......I think there was some good info regarding starting points and roads to get you going. I would look for open pockets that are still holding berries.

Problem is so far this year everyone has been shooting bear down low in the log clearings and the foothills. I have yet to hear of a bear shot in the high country. I'm still searching just because I enjoy being up there. As The old saying goes, spend enough time in the woods and you'll eventually see something.

Just have to put on some boots and get after it ....a lot of bear on this side but you need to get out and find them ...Berries were ripe early this year but if you know what Oregon grapes are and you find patches of them most likely the bear are near !! I may need to go this weekend ...been so busy working we only had one day to go last Sunday and it only took use about 5 minutes once we reached our honey hole to lay the smackdown on a big in !  :chuckle:

I don't know what it is this year but most of the bears seem to be on the south side of Mt Baker off of the Skagit.  :dunno:

I can only imagine what it will be like around here come deer season .... I may need to head East just so I can relax a little ... Can always come home a deal with the madness once I prepare myself for it ... :chuckle:

I have a handful of days logged up high this yr on ripe berries without a bear sighting, been a tough yr so far, saw way more last year.
