Feel Free To Hunt Land GMU 578
« on: September 13, 2013, 11:05:01 PM »
So I got on GoHunt and was looking around for some FFTH land that was relatively near me (Rochester)

I found the little green diamond just west of Glenwood at the end of Draper Springs Rd.

It says there is 34,286 acres to hunt Big Game and Upland Birds. I was looking some more and its entirely surround by the Yakima Res. I tried looking it up to find the land owner but it didnt have that feature on the website (or I couldnt find it?)

My question is, is that good to hunt? Im not native nor have I hunted on Reservation land. I guess Im just kind of unsure about it all. I only hunt on timber co land so this is all new to me.

Anybody hunted there before can fill me in? Should I just go and hunt it?

I don't know or hunt that area so I can't give you any advice on the land, but I would suggest calling the regional WDFW office.  They should be able to direct you to someone who can give you more details the property in question.  Good luck!

Yakima Res is in eastern wa and you're in western wa so your question isn't very clear.

West Klickitat has parts of Yakima Indian rez in it. Check your maps and use Klickitat g.i.s. and make sure you are on the right land

I will give wdfw a call and see what they say. It's on the go hunt maps so I would assume it's all good but you know what happens when you assume things...

as far as I know the only hunting allowed on the Yakima reservation is in the lower Yakima valley and it is only for upland birds and waterfowl. The area around Adams is a closed area I believe
