Ooh ok I didnt know modern tags could hunt archery, thats kinda pointless. Oh well less people out n about durring my season.

There are better tags for modern than there are for archery sometimes. For instance I liked and drew the alta modern tag years ago, but wanted to hunt with my bow.   Strap on some hunter orange and go get it done.  For years I hunted modern with a bow.  Now I spend money and get a multi season tag, hunt archery and apply for modern.   Its all about understanding the regs and mixing it up for different fun.  ( hunting the mountain during a different season.)
plus I think there are some highhunts that are available for modern that aren't for archery.

And i will add to what Bone said, if you are a Blacktail hunter there are some great bucks in firearm restriction areas and the timing of the rifle seasons are a great time to hunt those deer... :twocents:
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

I have chosen to do just that this year. Bought a modern tag with intentions of hunting with my bow. I believe that the late modern season is the best season to hunt the rut.

That is exactly my plan for Muzzy Elk :)

before last year the muzzy elk units I like to go to have been relatively sparse of hunters.  Last year (first year to allow bows in muzzy), the units were packed--people at every gate, never seen so many in those places.  More than during modern.

This will be the first time trying this approach.
