Recommendations for future quality drawings

Hey guys, I'm pretty new on here. I found the site while researching a late any buck tag I was drawn for in the Pearygin unit. Anyway, I was pretty surprised to draw a deer permit and not elk. I'm up to 13 points now on Elk. I've always hunted west side and know some decent areas, especially during the quality elk times. I've hunted both modern and archery although I'm pretty new to archery. The last couple years I've been choosing based on what times I'm able to hunt.  So my question is am I crazy to continue putting in west side for elk? I'm not asking anyone to tell me their spot, I know a few of the good east side areas. Just looking for opinions. I would love to get a big Roosevelt, but some of those east side bulls look pretty awesome

I put in for the west side for years with no luck. Put in for east side . First time drew peaches tag. Last year nota thing . This year little Naches Quality .

It is a matter of choice.  To some of us the only real elk is a Rosie!  Just my  :twocents:

I wouldn't waste 13 points on the touttle or margaret, but there are a couple permits I would put in for.I personally would never buy an eastside tag so od only be able to put in if I draw multi. There are plenty of trophy animals killed in otc units on the wetside every year tho.

I AGREE with 'button nubs" but toutle an Margret our in 2 different categories these days. toutle Is quality. it would be points wasted IMO. but I don't think Margret is a bad pick in the bull draw section. as for the westside goes.

hunt what you know , if there's studs there and you can get on them then put in for it . 13 isn't a gimmie in any of the quality east units.

Many of the best tags, you may not draw with a 100 points, such as these rifle rut tags.   It helps to ahve a little luck and you need to play if you want to win.
