ELK ADVICE
« on: September 23, 2013, 11:24:49 PM »
So I know its only September 23rd but I'm already thinking next year. I've been looking an reading for days. I wanna do some OTC tag for next year. ARCHERY... Ideally Id like to go east. Idaho, Montana, Wyoming. Does anyone have any inside advice or advice from maybe there own trip they share on anything. Ive been looking a lot an most people reply is " read, research" but that only tells you so much. Even if someone has advice on what they wouldn't do an why would be helpful.          thanks

If you want to hunt elk in WY I would buy a point before the 9/30 deadline.

The cheaper option will be ID and not to include fuel. If your hunting OTC in any of those states you can find the same type of poor or great hunting in all 3. Its all about where you research and start they all can offer a good time and I really dont see a benefit, unless your wanting to hunt multiple states or building points for good units.

Wyoming is a great place for elk. Just "read, research" and you will do fine. I got a 362  back when I was in my 20's

Was that pre wolf over population days?
