Elk cape tanning
« on: October 09, 2013, 10:17:04 AM »
So I want to get my elk cape tanned with the hair off. Will most taxidermists do this? Any recommendations where to go?

I think most taxidermists just send them to their preferred tannery but...I've never heard of such a thing?
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

Your cape or your hide? Big difference. Taxidermists will send them off to be tanned "hair off". There aren't many places in the west that do hair off tanning. Get a hold of the taxidermist of your choice and they can help you with it.
