pvc feeders
« on: October 10, 2013, 12:55:23 PM »
So I built a couple 4inch pvc feeders about five feet tall . I'm going to corn them up this weekend and see if the does bring a big boy around come November . I'm wondering how long the feed will last with 6-10 deer hitting it .

Full that would be around 3 1/2 gallons only.  If 10 deer are hitting that, it isn't going to last very long.  Maybe a day if that.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

Be advised I have heard from others if you use like a molasses based feed they will plug up if wet weather or it is cold.

If you make the outlet tiny, a few kernels at a time, it may last a couple of days.  Peas (culls from Spokane Seed) would be a better choice.  High protein and fewer digestive issues for the deer.  They are usually cheaper than corn if a few ton are picked up.  Put out a good vitamin/mineral mix to go with it, next years fawn crop and antler growth will show it.
