I have to tell you I wish the game department would post all of their poaching activity like the Idaho Department does. They give location what happened and then ask the public for help. I would like to know what is going on. Yyou never know, sites like this with the amount of members out in the woods just might remember something to put away some of these fools..... :twocents:

I saw it too. Seems like the guy got cited for shooting 2 elk like you said and no endangerment to the houses around. It's just the neighbors are a little concerned about shooting near their homes.

what are these people thinking? they want to live in the country, around nature. but when the neighbor shoots an elk they get pissy? on the video on khq.com it looked like a good place to shoot one, in a field...

You said it Bullblaster, I live in N. Spokane and see elk regularly in my yard and other farms around me.  They are resident animals and everybody gets use to seeing them once and awhile.  There are a few farmers who hold all the land and don't let anyone on there after the rifle deer season starts.  The elk seek out these fields and hang tight till usually the same old farmer shoots his elk, he is over 70, must be close to 80 and not the most purdent
of gents, but he owns the land and he has the right.
Last year he pulled his pick-up off of Bruce/Argonne rd into his field about 8 am during the "bankers" commute, got out of his truck and started flinging lead in to a herd of about 30 elk, he hit the 5x5 running with the herd, but is a terrible shot and had to chase it about a mile through the neighboring farms before finishing him off.
You would of thought someone got murdered shortly after that.  Fire trucks, police and the game department showed up.  All said other then lack of tact, he was fully in the right.
