cops in the blues
« on: October 30, 2008, 11:49:10 AM »
does anyone know why the game wardens and sherriffs were running around like crazy in the blues on the rifle opener? I saw them fly by a couple of times with lights flashing. I tried to flag down a game warden the next day to ask him but he never stopped. Just curious if maybe someone shot a elk buck like the guy last year.

I'll start watching license plates and keeping my eyes on them.

I heard about one of them a couple of years ago, a local had the sheds to a bull that was supposedly from Idaho. I'm not positive but i think the guy got busted.

Yeah, we were up there. The were chasing a guy in a black stolen Jeep Cherokee. He was also wanted for stealing from campsites in the area. He drove up to our camp in the middle of the night, made a u-turn at the yellow gate and headed back down the road with the police in pursuit. Next day, the police stopped at our campsite and asked us if anything had happened and we said no, we just heard him turning around. They had arrested the guy earlier and were gathering information on him. Also, there was a camp with about 20 hispanic hunters nearby and the warden was called on them for suspected poaching but he found nothing to convict them on. They ended up getting a few nice bucks before we left. :bash:

yep, that's where we were....a bit higher up where the road dead ends by the yellow gate...cops and rangers came by our camp asking if anything was missing or if we had seen the guy in the Cherokee the previous evening. We had seen him driving around on our way in but figured it was just another dude out for a hunt...guess you never know...hey, did you know Vern? He hunted a lot in that area, rest his soul...

I'm glad he's in custody........I just hope the judge throws the book at him and I hope he gets a very long jail sentence.

*censored*, a liberal as we are here in Washington, the judge will say it was his momma's fault, or poor guy didn't have a dad, it wasn't his fault he stole all that stuff..

Probably a slap on the wrist and 25 hours community service, which he won't do...

"Gee if they hadn't left the stuff in their camp and the Jeep wasn't there, I wouldn't be a thief now would I?" :dunno:
