Still the king of 2pts and doe's...
« on: October 13, 2013, 08:46:43 PM »
Been hunting the Cub Creek area the past 2 days and have been in the deer just no shooters, a 2pt does and a little spike. Probably should have returned to Twisp this year as I really liked it over there last year but a coworker gave me the proverbial "hot tip" since he couldn't make it over this year. I have dirtied the boots for sure! Been as low as 3,000' and as high as 5800' seem to be seeing the most action in the 4,000' range?! Logged about 12 boot miles so far...

Humped straight up this morning, 800' total right out of the truck, got to the top and low and behold here's a guy in his upper 60's! I kinda startled him! He headed down the way I came up after a brief chat... sure hope I'm pulling the hills in 20 years! He came from a grade road that was somewhere on the other side of the knob I was on...didn't see it on my map? Oh well. Stayed in the area for a couple hours as I had good glassing areas but again only 3 does to show for it.

Well, congrats to those that tagged out this weekend and good luck to those still busting their butts!! I got one more morning to get after it before I have to be homeward bound as I used the last of the vaca for elk season. I will chalk this season up to a good warm up opportunity for elk!

To the dude in the red Ranger on Banker Pass that winged his empty water bottle and cookie container out his drivers window, you can go ahead and stay out of the woods!! Don't worry jackwagon I picked them up for you! Seriously, have some respect for the woods chief!  :bash: I was pulling up out of a drainage after hunting all morning and only about 40' from the road when this dude stopped. They looked around, chatted and then fling, fling! Out the window goes the trash!! Man that drives me nuts!! How is it 2013 and there are people still stupid enough to litter that freely??! Disgusting

The final morning produced 3 more does and another 5 miles on the boots! Figured out some stuff for next year though! Next year I will get the whole season!
