I lived in Spokane for 4 years and hunted out around Chewelah. Quarry Browns Lake Rd. will take you into the hills on the west side of the hwy. There is some disabled hunting in that area but is legal walk in. I like getting behind closed gates anyway. On the east side go up Sand Canyon Rd an it will take you into some great public land. When I 1st moved there was so excited to see all the open land on the map and so discouraged when I drove and drove and found nothing but private fenced posted land. I made friends with the guys who hunted at work and they were kind enough to share the areas they hunted. Great bear hunting around there too. Good luck.
