« on: November 21, 2013, 09:51:02 AM »
im going to head up to gmu 382 sat and possibly sunday to see if i can fill my tag. unfortunately only 2 days of i get to fill it. i hunted this area early season and had the opportunity at a nice 4 point but he jumped over to private land. does anyone have any info on some area to hunt or possibly a farmer interested in offer some private land to hunt, i can trade him for some things if that helps.lol

Good luck nick, i've been hunting in 382 before i could even carry a gun (literally) and with the increase in hunters over the last 5 years it will only continue to get more private. Gun clubs, limited public access and private land makes it hard. This is both good and bad in my opinion.
Ruger brought back the .220, i just shoot it.

yea i know what you mean swiftkid, i hunted this area all the time as a kid with my dad but never as an adult. we used to know a farmer who let us hunt on his property but someone ruined it a few years back when they vandalized and poached on his property. i was able to find 60 acres around box canyon to hunt but thats about it that i have had luck with so far. but hey i will be knocking on doors today and tomorrow hoping for better luck.

always take things they might need or want.   a box of apples, a sack of spuds, canned things like hot sauce, peppers, a hat or tshirt, etc.    mike w
