My son’s peaches muzzy bull
« on: October 20, 2013, 04:27:38 PM »
The peaches muzzy and rifle tags have been pretty quiet. I would like to see some of the bulls that were taken. Feel free to post them on this thread if you like. My son got this one on the 4th morning. There were 3 bulls bugling hard at each other heading up the ridge and Gary started cow calling. This got the attention of a cow up with the bulls and she started heading towards us talking back at us. Well this really teed off this bull and he started screaming for his cows to come back. Finally he had enough and decided to come after his cows. He popped through the trees at 12 yards from us and my son shot him right through the heart. He went about 30 yards and collapsed. That was the most exciting hunt I have ever been on. I want to give a big thank you to my friend Ric the elkstuffer for all the  help he provided and for setting us up with his friend Gary on short notice for a couple of hours of much needed elk calling expertise. I also want to thank TimberCutter for sharing his experiences from last year when he had the tag.

Yeah, me too, I am still trying to shake that off. I am experiencing a lot of highs and lows. I am extremely happy that my son got one but at the same time I have a pain in my chest knowing that I will probably never have that tag again.
