Re-Wilding America with Wolves - Take Action Today!
« on: October 22, 2013, 01:37:43 PM »
Got this email this afternoon From BIG GAME FOREVER

Radical new plans to force unmanaged wolf populations across America were released last week. Here is a map of the next phase of these wolf proliferation plans:

See below for maps illustrating how these plans will impact your states.

What Big Game Forever is Doing to Protect Wild Game
As you are aware, Big Game Forever is working diligently to protect America’s wildlife populations and the rights of sportsmen. Tonight on Outdoor Channel, Shawn Michaels MacMillan River Adventures will take you to the halls of Congress with Big Game Forever. You can see what our nation’s leaders are doing to ensure state’s have management authority over wolves.

Here is what we need to understand: Extreme animal rights activists see unmanaged wolves as a means to a broader agenda. What is this broader agenda? Not only decreasing opportunity for sportsmen, but closing of public land hunting units, ending public land grazing and ultimately the “re-wildling” of America. Our goal is simple: we want to protect wild game, our outdoor heritage and the right of states to address concerns when they arise.
Here is a quote that illustrates the agenda, “Change the policies and practices …[to] eliminate their participation in killing wolves to artificially boost game populations.”

How will this affect wildlife and hunting in your state?

Southern Rockies (Colorado, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico):
Southern Rockies Map

Quote:  “ Colorado is home to 300,000 elk and some of the best remaining wolf habitat in the entire country. The Uinta Mountains of Utah and parts of northern Arizona and New Mexico provide key linkages to other wolf populations...” Source: http://www.defenders.org/publications/places-for-wolves-southern-rockies-defenders.pdf
Quote: "efforts...to re-establish wolf populations in suitable Southern Rockies Habitat in Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah...There are two ways this can happen: the release of wolves from other areas...” Source: http://www.defenders.org/publications/places-for-wolves-southern-rockies-defenders.pdf

Southwest (Arizona, New Mexico, S. Utah, S. Colorado):
Southwest
Source: http://www.defenders.org/publications/places-for-wolves-southwest-defenders.pdf
Quote: “the Grand Canyon ecoregion is one of the best places for wolves in the lower 48 states (Sneed 2001; Carroll et al. 2003; Carroll et al. 2006). Wolves dispersing from the Blue Range Wolf Recovery Area could reach the canyon region, but relocations of wolves would greatly accelerate expansion into the area…Other promising recovery sites include northern New Mexico and southern Colorado and Utah. Additional areas, in west Texas…”

Pacific Northwest (California, Nevada, Washington State, Oregon):
Pacific Northwest Map
Source: http://www.defenders.org/publications/places-for-wolves-pacific-northwest-defenders.pdf
Quote: “Possible sites with good wolf habitat include the coastal Olympic Range in northwestern Washington, the Siskiyou Mountains of southern Oregon and northern California, the northern Sierra Nevada in eastern California” Source: http://www.defenders.org/publications/places-for-wolves-pacific-northwest-defenders.pdf.

Northeast (Maine, New York, New England):
See Map: http://www.defenders.org/publications/places-for-wolves-northeast.pdf
Quote: “…Several studies indicate that suitable habitat and sufficient prey exist for wolves in the swath of New England extending from northern and central Maine across northern New Hampshire and Vermont to Adirondack Park in northeastern New York…” Source: http://www.defenders.org/publications/places-for-wolves-northeast.pdf

How these plans extend beyond wolf expansion:
(1) The aggressive wolf expansion plans now include the Southern Rockies (Colorado, Utah) , Pacific Northwest (Washington State, Oregon, California), The Southwest (Arizona, New Mexico, Texas), and Northeast (Maine, New York, New England).
(2) The stated goal is to decrease wild game populations
(3) They hope to stop professional wolf control activities.
(4) They advocate for wolf transplants.
(5) No state management to protect wildlife using federal mandates.
(6) They want to repeat the impacts to wildlife experienced in the Northern Rockies.

Reminder:
Tonight on Outdoor Channel, Shawn Michaels MacMillan River Adventures will take you to the halls of Congress with Big Game Forever, to show you what we are doing to protect wild game populations and the rights of hunters.

Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate. - Psalm 127:3-5

SOon to be the end of all hunting as we know it for the antis will use this to end it!  :hello:
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter
