Elk Camp siouxon / wind river
« on: October 27, 2012, 03:44:59 PM »
We will be up around Siouxon / Wind river units again this year.  two hard charging years in and we think we've id'd some good patterns and holding areas.  We've laid claim to a damn good camp spot the last couple years, out of the wind, good access, perfect for the 15x15 wall tent with plenty of room to expand camp in years to come.  We are hoping to come across a couple more guys, hopefully with another tent to join camp.  There are only two of us now as we both split from our prior camps due to a common difference of hunting style, effort and camp spirit.  If anyone loves this area too and is interested in coming by for a couple beers and *censored*ting let me know.  If you're looking for a new camp or to expand your small camp like us maybe we should talk some.  We are a shared meat, shared work, totally in it for the meat and spirit of being in the woods kind of camp.    We have a blast in camp, but meat is the focus so up early and down the road to hike in before light hopefully.

I might be interested in something like that.  I just got back from my WY cow elk hunt and was successful.  Do you guys get drawn for bulls or are you cow hunting?

for modern rifle elk? terrible!  we tried a new section of those units (all around forlorn and goose lake) went off some late season spottings we had the season before, but we didn't one scratch of hair all season.
