Porcupine Hunting?

Is porcupine hunting legal in WA state, if so what kind of a license do I need for it??? Does anybody know good places where I can find them??? Any info would be helpful!

They are legal to shoot.  I don't know what license you need............I assume just about any license.

Good luck finding a porcupine when you are trying to find one.  I can't imagine actually finding one when I wanted to.  My guess would be to just drive logging roads and hope to find a porky walking along....... 

I had one a few feet from me last weekend while deer hunting.  I was trying to get a doe to grow antlers and I had a porky walk into the brush pile I was resting my rifle on.

I think i heard They are non-classified.  which would mean hunt-on.

Hunt them. They seem to live in the same habitat as upland birds. My buddy's dog got a face & mouth full of quills last weekend in the cattails.

Crab Creek Willife area. Or anyplace like that in E. WA. I've seen them in the woods around Snoqualmie Pass, too.

It was in Capitol Forest.  But I've seen them just about everywhere in the State.  I've seen them in sagebrush and in evergreen forest..........But infrequently.  I don't know how you'd actually find one when you set out to find one.

I had one just on the other side of the fence in my yard several years ago.  My lab had a nack for finding them.  But he also wasn't smart enough to keep his face out of them even after the first one filled him full of quills.

Maybe just get out and go coyote hunting or grouse hunting and keep your eye out for porkies.

I saw 3 dead on the side of the road at different locations coming from Davenport to I-90 through Harrington straight down last year coming back from deer hunting......
