Learning its not the kill its the hunt
« on: October 31, 2013, 07:43:27 PM »
So my husband says I'm spoiled I have been hunting Deer and have gotten one every yr. Elk hunting 3 times getting 2 out. He said I don't understand its the hunt not just the kill. So this yr I desired I would try to enjoy the  hunt and not worry about if we killed an Elk. So the first day after hunting( walking) all morning I went back to our camp (too use the little girls room) Hubby stayed up the road. So right behind camp what do I see :yeah: An Elk I have no gun hubby had them. So I just watch. Next day we can hear a herd in the wood behind our camp again will they come out oh no not until dark (after hunting hours) I think they have watches and know how to tell time :chuckle: But instead of getting mad I just sat and enjoyed the sounds the calls/ branches snapping. So our last day after driving all over Elensburg from so far up. We get back to camp and what is there  :hello: A turkey walking through our camp. I had to laugh. God had showed me all his beauty. Oh I forget to mention  the 2 deer that also walked through our camp. I learned to enjoy being with my husband, mother nature, and Gods creatures. We will be back out next week this time down South and can't want to see what I will get to see. I can't say it's easy I wish I had an Elk to skin and eat but I learned hunting is more them just the kill. Thank you all for sharing your story's and  teaching me..

It actually is the kill he is lying to you.  :chuckle:

But the magic that you have witnessed is what drives us to spend soo many hours / Days / weeks / months / years to get that kill.  :chuckle:
