Late whitetail down!!
« on: December 06, 2013, 02:47:23 PM »
Got this guy this morning in 127. First whitetail and first deer with a bow for me! Shot at 15 yards, shot a little far forward, I think, arrow broke off and broke the far shoulder but didn't pass all the way through. The first pic is a pic of a trail cam pic, might be him??? 2nd as I found him. Only went 50 yards and tipped over.

I got to the blind 20 min before light and had a spike come in at first light. Then a doe showed up and I was thinking about filling my 2nd deer tag but then I saw two little ones trailing behind her. I promised my wife I wouldn't shoot the doe with twin fawns.

The spike started acting funny, looking around and stuff so I kinda had an idea something was up. This guy walked in so I slowly picked up my bow and went full draw. I held it for 2 min or so and he wouldn't clear a little pine, so I had to let off. He finally took a couple steps and I re drew my bow and let him have it! Crazy adrelelin rush having deer that close!

Thanks guys! I don't know how much longer I would have sat there with these temps if there wasn't deer in front of me.

Just got done skinning him and holy bloodshot!! I thought an archery kill would be cleaner than a rifle kill but i don't know. Slick trick 100 was in great shape when I pulled it out if the shoulder

Nice buck. Turned out good that you waited on filling your second deer tag.
