Western Wa Duck hunting slow,
« on: November 03, 2008, 03:34:09 PM »
So I know the weather has not cooperated,  but this seems to be the slowest in many years up here.  Hunt primarily Whidbey Island.  Haven't strayed off Island yet,  any luck up at Welts or Skagit?

I'm looking to get out soon too and I've been curious about the numbers of birds around the Skagit areas recently.  Still slow like everywhere else seems to be right now?

I was at Skagit this past Fri., pretty slow I only heard of one duck shot, but it sounded like guys in boats were getting some shooting , also was at welts the week before and it was dead.  Almost all of the ponds were dry and I didn't see one bird in the air from about 10 min before shooting time until 11 o'clock

Anyone seen an increase in migrating northern ducks?  Figured the weather should be getting them moving now.

Been seein okay numbers down in the snohomish river valley. Nothing to brag about but we saw several big groups of teal yesterday, and a couple groups of mallards that worked in real nice to the dekes. Our shooting was mediocre at best, but we managed to scratch a few down.
Take her easy, and if she's easy take her twice.

been hunting a public spot near sedro-woolley, shooting quite a few ducks during the week, but the weekend is crazy with all the people. me and 3 others shot 40 ducks in 3 mornings. all but 5 or 6 were mallards.
