truck window advise needed.
« on: November 21, 2013, 05:22:42 PM »
This Morning Going To Work I Rolled Down My Window.  It Was Frozen And The Track Pulled Loose From The Glass.  What Do Dealers Or Auto Shops Use For Adhesive To Glue Glass To Steel?  I Went To Auto Parts Store But They Were To Wishy Washy On What To Recommend.

I bet if you took off your door panel, you could put it back on track yourself.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

not sure what year you have but if its just pulled out of the channel you can clean it good with brake clean ( panel off ) then wipe with glass cleaner and use either window urethane or I use the permatex ultra silicone its the heavy gray that sticks like mad . fill the run channel and push the glass into it and run the window up and leave it for a couple of days you will be good to go .

it will set but i'd leave the window up for a few days . if you run by a glass shop the may just give you a partial tube of urethane once it's opened it goe's bad fairly soon . urethane is a total bitch to redo if you have a issue that's why I lean towards the good gray silicone ( it should work fine ) just make sure it's cured this time of year it can take a few days to totally set .

I did the same thing last year on my '01 f-150. I used freesole and has worked great ever since. Good luck.

Glass shops use urethane adhesive. Same stuff they use on windshields.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield
