Late Archery Season
« on: November 22, 2013, 11:30:35 PM »
Due to some health issues and concentrating on Tuna we havent' been out  chasing  ELK for a couple years  :(  and the freezer is about empty of venison.  Thinking of going back to Winston Cr but the last we were there we couldnt get into my old areas  and camping spot due to the  gates and signs.

With all the rain I know there are no fire restrictions   8) but can I get into the Winston Cr valley off the Longbell road?

Dec ELK a couple years ago- sure would like to find his uncle..   :)

Keep 'em Straight!!! (and quiet)

Greg,

Are you referring to the 100 and 200 lines that are accessed off of long bell? You can access the area by walking or bike, no motorized vehicles.

As for your elks uncle, remember the regs changed. And late season Winston is cow only. Have a great hunt and I hope you fill the freezer.

Thanks Dan,  I should have refreshed the regs before posting....

I was hoping to find this ELK trail being used again... I don't mind walking and biking but with new knee and old fused back may have to find a place we can drive in closer.  Any access off the 1100 or ????

I haven't spoken to the land owner but weekends have been open for vehicles, weekdays limited to walkin.

The 1100 is a long road.

I wish you we'll, always enjoy your stories on this and other forums.
