I like its reminds me of the p40 warhawks front ends. But am I the only one who wonders why the weapon is on fire instead of safe?

A safety is a mechanical device, not to be depended upon. So why use it, I know where my finger is.

He probably dropped the hammer to take the tension off the hammer spring.  Once you do that, you can't put the safety on.
