The .300 Win Mag is a real performer through a wide range of powders and is one of the most forgiving cartridges I have owned when it comes to seating depth. I have shot allot of .300 Win Mag through many factory and custom rifles in the chambering over the years and my go to powder for speed and accuracy has been RL-22. For years I shot a bunch of the 180 BT's , super accurate bullet from the .300. One year it accounted for my best Rockchuck season. 176 of them in a single spring & summer. Lately I have Prefered a little speed over weight, I've been shooting the 165gr BT's on top of RL-22. For big game I just switch the 165 BT for a 165 Accubond and I'm good to go with the same powder charge.
My factory .300 Win Mag Sendero, bone stock. Not even a trigger job slings the 190 Sierra MK's fairly well over RL-22.

This was shot at 400 yards one day when I was confirming my real would drop at 400 yards with a 300 yard zero. Slight right to left breeze, I didn't dial or hold for wind. This was with the same factory Sendero, the real world drop matched of ballistic App perfectly. I just slapped the orange dots on a box backed the truck off 400 yards and shot from the prone, using my range finder as a rear bag. The one shot that's out felt solid when the trigger broke but who knows?
