Left handed pump shotguns
« on: November 24, 2013, 08:27:20 AM »
I am looking for a left handed pump shotgun, camo pattern to buy my son for his 21st birthday next spring.  Mostly for waterfowl hunting and some turkey hunting. I don't want to spend the money for a Benelli or a Beretta.  What are your suggestions?  Thanks.

Do a google search for bottom eject shotguns, seems to be a lot of different ones.  I haven't used any but my wife's Mossberg 500 at least has an ambidexterous thumb safety.

Ithaca 37 would be the way I would go.

Just my  :twocents:, I have used a right handed pump shotgun for 7 years now and I shoot left handed, never had a problem with anything. If you do look for left handed guns you will usually find higher prices.

I've shot right hand 870's, and a slew of other right hand shotguns over the years, to the tune of over 20,000 rounds,  left handed and never had a problem.
Just a thought, but I'd at least look at right handed shotguns as well.

I'm left handed and shot standard pumps my whole life. I've always used Mossberg's because of the top tang safety is great for south paws. I'm currently shooting a Mossberg 835.

Left handed pumps are pretty rare, especially in camo. I think the best you'll find is the bottom ejecting browning bps, but it is kind of spendy for a pump and I've heard they aren't the easiest to clean.

:yeah: I think the most reasonable priced option will be a bottom eject if you don't go  bottom eject.

I use the left handed 870 express.  I ordered the camo wrap kit from mossy oak.  Love it
