Mica WA 4X4 White tail
« on: October 22, 2013, 11:29:54 AM »
On Wednesday of opening week for the modern season I was still kicking myself for missing a bruiser 5x whitey the morning before but I pushed myself to head back out to the wheat and hay fields south of Spokane.  Still sore from the unproductive walk up and down the canyon I found the day before and thinking about mister Big, I came over a rise and there in a dip in a hay field was this nice 4x with his nose to the ground. Instantly I forgot my bad luck the day before. Not a bad old guy. He was wintered up pretty good with over and inch of fat on his butt and dang did that back strap taste good! I’m pretty lucky that my wife and kids love it as much as I do, my 2 year old boy cannot get enough!

grew up hunting the back side of mica peak. I'm glad they have shut down the inland paper to vehicles, it has made for some really big deer and elk, congrats.
