My daughter and I are here in Anchorage visiting U of A for a couple of days. It is downright balmy compared to WA.
We did a little sightseeing today and she was hoping to see a moose. We saw a bunch of tracks and poo around one park's parking area but it was not super fresh. We contiinued to the end of the road by the Airport and as we came back, there was a cow and a calf just off the road. At one point the cow stood up on her back legs to bite off a branch. WOW, tall!
We saw two more on the drive up to Talkeetna this afternoon, but they were a ways off the road.
Her other hope was to see northern lights but it is probably a bit cloudy for that.
