$44,000 for the governors tag.  I wonder how much the two raffle tags cost?
Roughly the same, but without the guarantee of getting either tag.  Plus, if 2 people are seriously bidding for the Gov. tag, then the $44k price jumps to $60k.

Just once I'd like to see a 1-ticket-purchased guy get the tags out from under the $20k spent guys.  I do want the $20k guys to continue paying that much, though.  Lots of good is being done with that money.

:yeah:  Agree with all comments above.  Unfortunately, the "one ticket guy" won't be me.  I quit playing when I figured out how this game was being played.  I can't afford the donation...
I'd like to see where those dollars are truly being spent. I'm not sure 'Lots of good is being done' with those funds.
That's what I am saying ...these guys pay all this money for these tags and think the money is doing something good ! Not saying it is not but I highly doubt it ....There is no way I heck I am paying that kinda of money to brag about this huge bull I killed ...Just not my way of hunting ...I would rather shoot a spike ... :yeah: But THIS IS JUST ME AND MY OPINION .....

These guys killing these animals aren't bragging about anything.

No. There was one of the guys who participates now and then in the auction hunts that was a member, but after an endless ration of trash talk from the members, I think he decided to pull the plug.

I question how much of all the WDFW revenue is used wisely. It seems the WDFW is way to heavy with upper level managers and non-game management. I'm afraid that's where much of the money goes.   :twocents:

With that being said, the WDFW is the product of our elected officials. We elect these people. The Governor then appoints commissioners, legislators approve the commissioners and pass the WAC's, commissioners choose the director and WDFW policies. Long story short, we are getting what the majority votes for.

I hold nothing against anyone who can afford these special tags and would buy them myself if I could afford it. It saddens me to know that the nasty comments of a few jealous members keeps the rest of us from hearing the hunt stories of these awesome animals.   :bash: :twocents:

Just curious if anyone willing to try to help put pressure on WDFW to change the raffle process? Put a cap on it?
Maybe someone write up a well written letter and get as many huntwa members to sign it?
Just curious.

Ross, There is a survey the public can participate in where you can voice your opinion on many issues. I suggest ALL hunters voice thier opinions on this survey. I know there is not much faith that the state will even listen but it is an opportunity to give opinions on thier terms. I will address other issues with our chapter of WFW. I believe all chapters could pull some weight with the state if it is organized and addressed in the right way.

There is a member in here who pulled one of the raffle tags with like 20 dollar entry..  He got a ram, bull, and buck..
I kill elk and eat elk, when I'm not, I'm thinking about killing elk and eating elk.

It doesn't matter what you think...

Seems to me that the guys that are targeting the raffle tags are going after the single species raffles with big $$$$  ???????

ElkBurger, "voicing" your opinion to the WDFW gets you nowhere! I've watched many of their "surveys" and "Town Hall meetings" and have come to the conclusion that they are going to do what they want no matter what the "popular opinion" is. Case in point..... Mechanical duck decoys.   :twocents:

I have taken the survey.  Seemed pretty vague stuff on there.

I would like to see one governors elk tag and and a limit of 100 tickets in the raffle for any one wild id number.   I think the Governors tag would go 60 or higher because these guys can't 'buy out' a raffle.   I really don't think the difference in money to the wdfw would be all that much as more guys would return to the raffle knowing they could actually have a chance at winning.   :twocents:

Like I said...Theres not much faith that the state will even listen....The town hall meetings are a bitch fest and the user groups start arguing amongst themselves. I dont think enough people participate because of lack of faith. I have seen some changes. Probably from massive input from certain usergroups or harvest reports. i.e. shorter early archery seasons, more rifle rut tags, etc...
