.62 Cal Round Balls - Where to buy them?
« on: December 19, 2013, 03:47:04 PM »

I'm looking for some 0.600 dia round balls on-line and not finding much.  Did Hornaday stop making them?

Thanks,

ET

Do they have to be 0.600 on the nose? A lot more options out there if you are able to run 0.610's. Muzzleloading And More has the best selection including true 0.600's in swaged and standard pours. Check out Track Of the Wolf and October Country as well. They will occasionaly have them in stock.

I've got a spare .600 Lee single cavity mold that I'd sell you, if you want to go that way.

Thanks guys!  I already found both Track and ML & More sites.  Just wondering if anyone found any more reasonably priced sites.  Plus, I like the swaged Hornaday stuff, but they seem to have discontinued anything larger than .530.

With these prices, I may have to start casting myself.  I'm building a 62 Cal barrel for my underhammer rifle.  I already have a 50cal, and the barrels are interchangable on the action.  So, I'm getting a Rice barrel with Forsyth rifling 1-95 twist.  Should be a fun gun to shoot!

Thanks,

ET

My new Barrel won't get here till after New year.  But, I'll try to post up some pics once I get it ready.

BTW, I picked up the last two boxes of Hornaday .600 RBs that ML & More had for sale.  Bob said he's keeping the last four boxes in his safe for his personal use...LOL
