Roosevelt from shore
« on: January 02, 2014, 08:11:47 PM »
I know Roosevelt has been good from a boat but has anyone been doing any good from shore? I'm trying to decide between fishing, pheasant or ducks  :dunno:

Hawk creek and Fort Spokane are always a good bet.

Both have boat launches and a good shoreline. I have seen folks haul out some Lings at FT. Spokane also.
A slip Float works the waves keep the bait moving in the slightest breeze. Or you can just chunk it out and the work on your stress level. Your not fishing until you get a bite!!

If you have a tribe tag you can fish from the beach.

We usually do pretty good at Swawilla Basin...soaking power bait.  Tribal fishing license is around $10 for one day.

Interesting article. We have fished most all those places through the years and never had an issue? Will probably pic up the tribals white man license to avoid a bad day on the pond.

Let me know how it goes.  I think I'm taking the famdamnly to Seven Bays or Hawk Creek Sunday morning before the Hawks game.  Good luck at Fort Spokane.  There's a decent report with some nice rainbows from yesterday on WashingtonLakes.com http://www.washingtonlakes.com/ReportList.aspx?id=450&t=5

Fished fort spokane on saturday.  We came home with 7 nice chunky rainbows.  Got there at 8 and stayed till 3:30.  Missed a couple and lost one, anti-reverse went out in my spinning reel so i was having to be the drag which is a heck of a lot harder with a spinning real than a level wind.  I probably only saw 3-4 other fish caught so i think that we were pretty lucky.

There were a bunch of rigs alongside the lake today on 25.  From Fort Spokane north was the busiest. Good luck.

The family takes one trip a year to fish from the bank. Here's a few pictures. Love cold smoked trout. We use ultra light gear 4lb main line and 2 lb leaders. Makes for some great fun.
